Work With Us
Zawadi Farm is a working regenerative farm at Downsview Park in North York, Toronto. We grow food, train farmers, and build the food systems this city needs. We are looking for people who want to do real work with their hands, their knowledge, and their time — in a place that takes the long view.
WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

What you get from working here

Living Wage

We pay at living wage. A farmer’s skill, time, and knowledge are worth it. We treat the people who work this land the way the land deserves to be treated.

Real Farm Skills

No two days are the same. You’ll plant, harvest, prepare beds, work in soil, and learn directly from the farm. This is hands-on, practical work that builds knowledge you carry for life.

The Seventh Generation Principle

Every decision on this farm is made for people seven generations from now. When you work here, you are part of something that takes the long view. That is not a tagline. It is how we operate.

Rooted in Community

This farm exists inside Downsview Park and serves North York. The people you will work alongside, feed, and train live nearby. This is not abstract community work. It is specific, local, and real.

FROM THE STEWARD

“Where I come from, I was reminded that farming is the lowest of the low job you could ever take on. I had to do a lot of unlearning. What I know now is that a farmer is one of the most important people a city can have. If you want to do this work — come. We will build something together that will outlast both of us.” — Jessey Njau, Founder
